Simplifies life a little bit
Prior to purchasing one of these, I straightened out four wire coat hangers to get my radio out. It worked, but took a little bit of time and just the right touch for it to come out without trouble. Since then this tool has been invaluable for myself and friends for our stereo upgrade projects.

Totally worth the $4.95!
It is possible to remove a radio without this tool, but it took me ten times longer to get it done. It's worth the five bucks to simply insert the tool into the face of the radio and pull the radio out whenever the task comes up.

Great Aftermarket Fit
The fit and finish on product was execellent. Other than the din unit in place, it is difficult to tell it is not a factory installation.

Product Description

Turbokits are uniquely designed to provide the right combination of strength, appearance and versatility. In many cases, a rear support for the aftermarket radio is provided; it is either built into the kit or supplied with it. This adds strength to the kit and makes Turbokits the strongest in the business. They are the industry standard for installation kits.. often copied, never duplicated. Top to learn more

Very Nice
I received this kit from Amazon a couple days ago and put it and my new radio in my '02 Taurus in about 2 hours. It is sturdy and looks nice though it doesn't look like factory equipment. I chose this one because others were said to look cheap and feel flimsy. This one is definitely better than that. The plastic is multi layer and sturdy and holds the radio without any problem. This adapter has back lighting for the climate controls too and they look better than those on the 96 - 99 kit also made by Metra which look pretty cheezy. The biggest complaint (and its not that bad) is that the instructions could be a little more detailed. But after getting familiar with everything the installation was pretty easy. It would also be nice if they included the removal tools. I ended up shoving drill bits and allen keys in the holes then pushing the old one out from behind. One quick note, if your new radio is deeper than the Ford control unit, you will...

4/5 Great Overall
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus SE. Firstly, I would only recommend you purchase this kit if the year of your car is 2000-2003 (as stated on the box.) The kit comes with everything you would need, the only drawback; however, is that the directions could be more detailed as far as wiring goes. The diagrams could also be better drawn, but what can you do. I had to take this into Best Buy, because I just couldn't figure out how to wire the darned thing. Although, if wiring is your thing, this will be no problem whatsoever for you. I would also recommend you pickup a "din" removal tool, which will save you a boatload of hassle. Overall, the thing looks great, works great, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who was interested.

Awesome!!
I purchased this radio for my 1991 Ford Explorer. I will admit a was a little iffy about this radio but so far it has worked perfectly. The radio works fine its very easy to install and the cd/dvd player works great. To make the dvd player work you have to plug the parking brake green wire to the parking break system but if your like myself you have no idea what that is. I just went online and searched for a bypass for boss radio parking brake wire and it simply told me the answer, went outside and tried it worked great. :) So thankful for technology and blogs! Other then that one thing that bugged me is the when you turn up the radio there is a clicking noise which is quite loud. If you like myself I hate the clicking noise, but you get used to it. The screen for movies is very good quality! When you plug in the ipod through USB it syncs with the deck but the letters are very small, its a little difficult to read but if your like myself once again I just go through the folders not...

Excellent For The Price! Very happy!
Installed this the other day in my pontoon boat. The sound is much better than expected - very happy. The screen is very clear and more than acceptable. This stereo also had two additional Video-Outputs. I connected one to a dash mounted 7" Legacy Monitor and it looks great. Note - the Video-Outputs DO NOT show output when in "Radio Mode". But do show output when a CD/MP3/DVD Movie are inserted.Tested Terminator 2 in DVD Mode - Looked and sounded great!Camera Input which works as expected.Tested a purchased DVD movie, three different Home-Made DVD Movies, DVD with MP3's, CD & CD with MP3's, ALL worked with NO Problem! For the "Parking Break Safety Feature", just Ground the Green wire to any ground to bypass.Note - The reason for a "4-Star" rating and not 5 - The Product Description makes it sound like a "Touch-Screen", it is NOT a Touchscreen, it is Touch "Controls" only. This is mostly my mistake, should have read the description closer and...

Decent quality at low price
I bought this Boss BV7320 for my jeep liberty 2007, easy install and looks nice. It does everything I want, SD card and USB is very nice to have, I hardly ever have to use an actual CD with those functions. When you first turn on the stereo it takes a moment to load and the clock is hard to read but everything works and I am loving it. The monitor is a nice size for watching DVDs and sound quality is good. Not a bad inexpensive upgrade for the sale price.

Metra 99-5720 Ford Mercury Multi Car Radio Install Kit Top to learn more

For those interested in installing this themselves
I just finished installing this a few days ago, expecting a simple plug & play. I was wrong. Still, the product was intelligently designed and included (almost) everything necessary to convert the dash to accept a standard 1-DIN head unit. Here some things you might like to know when considering this kit:First off, MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL ALL THE WAY TO ITS COLDEST SETTING BEFORE REMOVING ANYTHING. I had to figure this out the hard way. The reason is, once you unplug the temperature control cable from the back of the faceplate, the knob spins freely and it's possible to misalign the knob position to the actual temperature position when reconnecting. The nice thing about spinning it to max cold first is there's a little notch that will hold it in that position when it's time to reconnect everything, making sure hot lines up with hot so it's aligned perfectly.Anyway, that said, I can't tell you how relieved I was when I opened the kit and...

Pretty Easy!
Received product promptly.I installed the stereo by myself and this kit was a "No Brainer"! I've installed other stereos with kits, but this one was very straight-forward.The only problem I ran into was the heater button electrical plug kept hitting a notch on the car's stereo area opening. So I had to trim that down a little, but then it slid in just right.I would recommend this product for sure.

Good Camera at a Good price
Item arrived with all specified parts and in working order (including the drill bit)Installation is a little time consuming, so don't take this on if it's your first try at car audio / video. Unfortunately there were no instructions, and wires on the harness from the camera were unlabeled but luckily they were easy to figure out.The video out line is easy to spot as its the industry standard yellow RCA cable (17' extension included)The positive voltage that powers the camera is the wire that has the fuse in it (this line connects to the white back-up light in your tail lights and powers the camera)The remaining line is the ground and can be attached to almost any bare metal on vehicle, I usually choose a screw somewhere close. The cables included are long, but you may need to an extension for the power wire (to tell the receiver when to turn on the rear view monitor). I chose to extend the wire from the tail light so the video camera and...

Nice Camera, missing hole saw
I'd installed the camera in my Jeep Grand Cherokee with Pioneer 5600 DVD. The Installation was not simple, since I had to add extra video cable (the power cable is longer). As I noticed in other review, the hole saw that was supposed to come included in the kit was missing so I had to buy another one to be able to make the proper hole. The camera is water and dust resistant, and has a clear night vision, but since it has no angular lens (peep hole type) it doesn't cover both ends of the bumper and right there you miss the whole point of having a rear view camera. Just because of that, I would suggest further research of other similar products.

Image quality good, angle not as wide as I'd like
Overall this seems like a very good camera. The quality seems good and so far has not had any issues due to weather like previous cameras. I didn't want to drill a hole in the body of my truck to accommodate this camera so I installed it into a plastic housing under the bumper. It gets a good view, but surprisingly it can't actually see to the corners of the vehicle. The viewing angle of the camera almost makes it, but objects have to be 3-4 feet away (behind) the corners in order for the camera to pick them up. In the worst case, if something were right at the bumper on either side but just out of view of the side mirrors, you wouldn't be able to see it and could hit it. Other than this, if you're starting out somewhere that you know to be clear, then you're OK and can use your mirrors and camera to make it all work. The image quality is quite good, and at night can see well too.

But since I’ve sugessted keeping the 940 and parting with the V70, the choice is academic. My grandfather is cancelling his drivers’ license and wants to give us a loaded (even the digital dash) 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Bayshore with only 65,000 miles and no major repairs ever. If the V70 is the money drain then sell it. Personally I would sell the mercury and keep the Volvo’s. The Mercury is one of my favorite cars of all time, plus it’s soooo comfortable and repairs (if we ever need them) are generally cheap. The mercury is not even broken in yet, it is 17 years old and because it was not driven alot is more susceptible to problems. I wouldn’t trust the Mercury. I used to be a service adviser at a Volvo shop and the “98 had it’s share of problems but it is a good car. The 940 is my wife’s favorite, and is essentially bulletproof — no major repairs ever. If so, which Volvo should I get rid of. The V70 has insanely high repair bills but, it is a wagon, so it’s good for occasional trips.

This movement of the oxide away from the original scratch lets the mercury keep tearing through the aluminum until the mercury itself evaporates into the air, and so a small amount of mercury can cause a huge amount of damage. Aluminum, when it combines with oxygen, forms aluminum oxide, an incredibly hard substance that is scratch resistant. ) Since it doesn't flake off, the way iron rust does, it seals the rest of the aluminum off, preventing further rust and making the entire structure perfect for air travel. So today's lesson, kids, is don't bring mercury on planes. There are rumors that governments during the World Wars used to try to sabotage each other's planes by smearing mercury on them. (The arbitrary and extreme difference between iron and aluminum's reaction to oxygen is yet further proof for chemistry-as-witchcraft. More credible are the stories of someone breaking a thermometer near some aluminum, say on a park bench, and seeing the next day that there were massive holes eaten through the structure.
